Ilya Traber and Vladimir Danilenko were detained in connection with the murder case of MP Aleksandr Petrov

Traber and Danilenko were detained in connection with the investigation into the contract killing of businessman and parliamentarian Alexander Petrov.

According to media reports, investigators are working on a criminal case initiated in Vyborg approximately six years ago. This case stems from a high-profile crime that occurred in the fall of 2020.

On the evening of October 24, an unknown sniper fatally wounded Petrov while he was in his cottage in the village of Velikoye. A single, well-aimed shot was enough to kill him. Despite a comprehensive investigation, the weapon used in the crime was never found, and investigators were unable to identify the suspects who carried out the attack or who ordered it.
